International Women’s Day is a global celebration of women across the world! Every year celebrated on 8th March, this day acknowledges and honours the achievements and contributions of women. To celebrate the strength of these aspiring women, Women’s Day at MapleLabs was nothing less than phenomenal!
We celebrated this day by curating a special event for all our inspiring women employees with Bold in Blue.
This celebration was a collaborative organization with the HR department and 315 Work Avenue. In this blog, know how we celebrated the SHE spirit by setting a stage where the women could celebrate within themselves and feel valued for the incredible contributions they make every day.
MapleLabs celebrating Empowerment
For many organizations, Women’s Day celebrations are just a mere celebration of distributing roses and chocolates and decorating the office in pink.
But here’s how MapleLabs is making all the difference!
The colour ‘Blue’ is usually defined as the colour for men, but do you know it symbolizes strength and confidence? Thus, the stage set at MapleLabs was all decorated in shades of blue! Now that we were ready with the theme for the day, our special guests started arriving. The atmosphere was filled with cheerful smiles and with excitement to know what’s really going to happen. Everyone was greeted with a warm welcome and a rose with a personalized greeting card, a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the day.
The event was formally inaugurated by motivational speeches from the senior female leaders at MapleLabs. Their inspirational words and motivation resonated with all, creating an atmosphere of empowerment and harmony.
Celebrating Them by Unleashing Their Creativity
The first activity for the day was the Flea Market. This market was set up with five special booths run by talented and creative women entrepreneurs. The market reflected the skills and creativity of business women with detailed jewelry pieces, trendy hair accessories, emotive live poetry and decadent desserts.
Not just that, here’s what caught everyone’s attention- A tarot reading stall! This stall had a mystical touch that provided an added attraction, with interested participants keen to discover what the future had in store for them.
The second activity in line was the Mandala Painting Competition. The participants were provided with small canvases and a set of painting colours. The canvas gave them a chance to celebrate their inner child. The energy of all the participants turned the room into nostalgic moments. With their artistic strokes, the women turned the canvas into stunning mandala designs. The artworks were displayed in an exhibition-style format, allowing attendees to vote for their favourite designs by placing their roses beside the chosen pieces. Finally, the results were out! Two contestants won the competition and were awarded with Rs. 1000 vouchers by Pragya, HR of MapleLabs.
The next activity was the Makeup and Hairstyling Competition. This activity provided an entertaining and glamorous twist to the event. Contestants displayed their styling abilities, developing beautiful looks that wowed the crowd and judges. The confidence and ingenuity on hand were inspiring.
A Celebration of Team Spirit and Laughter
With a series of activities, the celebration moved ahead with a fun and lively session of Dumb Charades. The participants were divided into two groups. The hall resounded with guffaws as players mimicked clues and responded with answers, creating a friendly atmosphere of team spirit. The lighthearted activity united everyone, bridging barriers and promoting instant interaction.
Ending on a Sweeter Note
As the event came to an end, it was time for some delicious cake! Our wonderful women cut the cake together, representing oneness and common achievement. Later, everyone munched on tasty snacks and drinks while having a delightful conversation with their colleagues and the tour of the flea market.
As 6:30 PM drew near, the celebration came to a close. Warmth and gratitude filled the atmosphere as colleagues exchanged smiles and genuine words of thanks.
A Celebration to Remember
The Bold in Blue Women’s Day celebration at MapleLabs reminded all of us of the courage a woman can hold. The thoughtfully planned activities didn’t just serve the purpose of organizing the event, but it also resonated with their achievements and capabilities.
The laughter, happiness and sweet memories everyone created with warm interactions made this event truly memorable.
