As the lockdown melts down, the office days will be coming back soon. However, the COVID-19 threat still lingers upon us and we must take proper preventive measures against the virus. While most of the offices and coworking spaces have taken utmost care to keep us safe, we have to play our part as well.
You cannot take anything for granted and let yourself loose right away. Take care of yourself and encourage others to do the same.
Here are some of the things that you should be doing when you resume work at the office:
Most of the companies have adopted shifts to keep the workforce under control and maintain preventive measures against COVID-19. Ask your office to have a rotation policy which allows you to work with less number of people. It also facilitates social distancing as you will have enough space at the workplace.
Mask should be your BAE now. Wear a mask the moment you step out of your home. Use sanitizers, wash your laptop desks and never share things from your colleagues. Dispose of used tissues and avoid carrying unnecessary things to the office.
Never avoid checking your body temperature before entering office premises. Volunteer and have a check-up to make sure you are safe. Consult a doctor if you observe an increase in temperature or any discomfort. Do not enter the office if you see a rise in temperature.
Stay away from crowded places as much as possible. Avoid crowded lifts, cafeteria and recreational areas. Social distancing is the new norm which you must practice when you see a crowded place or a bunch of people. Maintain a safe distance from people to ensure your safety. Large scale meetings and face to face contacts should also be minimised.
Wash your hands with sanitizer regularly. Make sure that high-frequency touchpoints are sanitized at regular intervals. Maintaining good environmental hygiene should be at the top of your agenda. Practice good hand hygiene while you disinfect your seats. Also, avoid touching your hands, nose and eyes.
Never go out unless there is a need. Avoid gatherings during meal hours by having flexible timings. Take the prescribed measures seriously and follow them. Prefer packed snacks and if possible carry your food to the office. Remember that prevention is always better than cure.
