At 315 Work Avenue, we continually seek to turn the Valenzuela employee experience into something special, and this time we added an element of mystery to our individual experience by facilitating a one-on-one tarot reading for one of our clients. The day started off as an ordinary workday but soon became filled with fascination, calming influences and mystical feelings.
The area set aside for this experience was created to be a very private area where participants could relax and have a private experience. The lighting was soft, the atmosphere relaxed, the room was quiet, and there were no distractions, allowing each participant to immerse themselves completely in their tarot reading.
Unlike most of our other Valenzuela employee activities, this was done on a one-to-one basis. Therefore, each individual had the opportunity to speak with a tarot reader and talk about their individual concerns and/or questions or even curiosity about what they would experience. This added to the uniqueness of this event because of the one-on-one nature of the event and the opportunity for honest conversations, contemplation, and maybe even finding out more about themselves.
Insight, Intrigue & “How Is This So Accurate?” Moments
With every card revealed, reactions ranged from thoughtful nods to surprised laughter. The professional tarot reader guided participants through interpretations with clarity and warmth, offering insights that felt both intriguing and unexpectedly relatable.
There were plenty of those classic moments that raised eyebrows, wide smiles, and the inevitable, “How is this so accurate?” Whether the cards touched on career direction, personal growth, relationships, or future possibilities, each reading felt uniquely tailored to the individual.
What made the session especially engaging was the balance between mystery and conversation. The readings weren’t about dramatically predicting the future. Instead, they sparked meaningful reflections and offered new perspectives. In many ways, it felt less like fortune-telling and more like guided introspection with a magical twist.
A Refreshing Break from Routine
In fast-paced work environments, it’s rare to pause and simply reflect. The Tarot Card Reading session offered exactly that: a mindful break from meetings, deadlines and notifications.
As participants stepped out of the room after their sessions, there was a visible shift in energy. Some walked out deep in thought. Although many don’t think of hosting a Tarot Card Reading session as an ideal way to engage employees in the workplace, its non-traditional nature made it even better. It illustrated that not all workplace engagement needs to follow traditional formats, and that sometimes a little mystery and a lot of calm can have a deeper impact than a traditional team-building activity.
The combination of mystery with chill out, a playful way was as good as creating memory-making experiences, which will be great for working in a dynamic, human and slightly magical space.
